Onna
This area is beautiful coastline featuring Cape Manzamo and Blue Cave. Lined with resorts, it’s perfect for first-timers. Most of domestic and foreign tourists stay in this area. Enjoy live Okinawan music at restaurants. Don’t miss Nakayukui Market for tropical fruits and souvenirs!
Insider tip: Interestingly, the east coast town “Ishikawa” is also nearby. We recommend San A Ishikawa for local shopping and an indoor playground for kids!
Nago
The main city in northern Okinawa. Our favorite is Nago Pineapple Park because it has more than just a pinapple! Pinapple related activities are of course fun, but also it has the rare pinapple distillery selling Pinapple Wine and Vodka. It even has dinosaur exhibits that kids will love. Also great: Neo Park Okinawa, Roadside Station “Kyoda”, and famous “Nagumagai” for delicious Okinawan cuisine. Kouri Bridge offers stunning ocean views perfect for social media.😊
Motobu
Home to Okinawa’s most famous attraction, Churaumi Aquarium. Also known for crystal-clear beaches. Staying here is a good idea because it helps avoid traffic jam between Motobu and Nago that’s caused by aquarium visitors.

Yomitan
Well…historically significant as the first US military landing site in WWII. Features a mix of cultures, with great cafes like Bloom Coffee, various restaurants, and US military bases. Visit Okashi Goten’s main store for famous beni-imo (purple yam) tarts!
Naha
The main downtown area of Okinawa’s main island. Conveniently close to the airport, making it perfect for stays at the beginning or end of your trip. Attractions include the world famous art museum teamLab Future Park Okinawa.
