Visiting Tokyo with kids who want to see an aquarium? Shinagawa Aquarium offers a peaceful experience surrounded by greenery.
This guide covers key info on tickets, prices, booking, discounts, and family friendly tips from locals. We’ll also suggest some great nearby hotels for your stay.
What to See There?
Shinagawa Aquarium is a popular attraction nestled in a spacious park, just a 20-minute train and walk from Shinagawa Station. Free shuttle bus (detail) is available from JR Oimachi Station, too.
It’s home to 450 species, featuring a cool underground tunnel tank, dolphin show, cute seals, and penguins. With a restaurant, gift shop, and the surrounding park, it’s a great spot for a relaxed, fun-filled day out!
Insider tip: Be careful, it’s very easy to mistake this aquarium with Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa, another popular one nearby Shinagawa Station. It is also very good place to visit, with a superb dolphin show and its interior design being modern and cool, but they simply are in a very different location.⚠️
